Systems Assurance Consultant, UK

Job Summary

    Consultant with a systems assurance / engineering background undertaking a range of projects principally in the airport / rail sector. The candidate will possess a clear understanding of large-scale systems development, be strong of character when required but pragmatic in approach. The candidate should be highly motivated and adaptable to change, be able to make decisions and drive things forward.

    A project role may either:

    • involve assisting a client, procuring a system, to monitor the development of a system by the supplier; or
    • involve an active role in assisting a client, developing and supplying a system, to establish an assurance framework and then to create/collate the evidence to support that assurance framework.

    The work will either be undertaken on-site at our client’s offices (predominantly London based) or at our London office.

Qualifications and Experience

    ESSENTIAL

    • Good engineering degree (2:1 ideal), notably System Engineering, Computing Science, Software Engineering or Electrical/Electronic Engineering.
    • Experience in at least two of the following:
      • Systems assurance – auditing and review of user requirements, review of system specifications and designs, assessment of systems and software, review of testing and acceptance specifications and practices.
      • Software assurance - software integration, software-hardware integration and acceptance testing, commissioning and operational trials.
      • System Engineering - requirements management, risk management, test and integration management, configuration management, interface management.
    • Airport or Railway experience

    DESIRABLE

    • Familiarity with the methods and tools used to develop complex systems.
    • Broad knowledge of systems and software development and assessment environments and standards.
    • Experience of software configuration control in a large and complex test and commissioning environment.
    • Experience in performing assessments of systems and software supplier capabilities with respect to processes, products, quality and programme adherence.
    • Project management experience.
    • Ability to identify business opportunities.
    • Experience in providing consultancy support and representing company interests at client sites.
