Airport Common Use Equipment Systems Assurance Consultant
Job Summary
CSE has an ongoing need for consultants with passenger Common Use Equipment systems background, to undertake projects in the international airport sector. The candidate will possess a clear understanding of large-scale airport systems development, be strong of character when required but pragmatic in approach. The candidate should be highly motivated and adaptable to change, be able to make decisions and drive projects forward.
A project role would involve:
- undertaking requirements capture
- assisting a client in technical specification and procurement of CUTE and CUSS
- monitoring the progress of the systems implementation by the supplier, from requirements capture through the entire system development life-cycle completing Owner Acceptance and the transition into full operation
- taking an active role in assisting the client to develop assurance criteria for CUTE and CUSS system(s)
The work will be undertaken on-site at the client’s offices (often outside the UK).
Qualifications and Experience
ESSENTIAL
- Good engineering degree (2:1 ideal), notably System Engineering, Computing Science, Software Engineering or Electrical/Electronic Engineering.
- Minimum of 7 years progressive experience in airport IT solutions
- Familiarity with airport
- Traditional CUTE deployments – including an understanding of the airlines requirements and selection of peripherals
- CUSS installation – including airline branding and bag drop options
- Recent developments to common use – including CUPPS.
- Experience in at least two of the following:
- System Engineering - requirements management, system design, risk management, test and integration management, configuration management, interface management.
- Systems assurance – auditing and review of user requirements, review of system specifications and designs, assessment of systems and software, review of testing and acceptance specifications and practices.
- Software assurance - software integration, software-hardware integration and acceptance testing, commissioning and operational trials.
- Airport IT system experience.
- Able to work with the multiple stakeholders involved in the deployment of airport IT systems, including airlines.
- Ability to write technical specification and reports.
DESIRABLE
- Strong technical background, including solid analytical and trouble shooting skills.
- Experience in dealing with Service Level Agreements.
- Familiarity with the methods and tools used to develop complex systems.
- Broad knowledge of systems and software development and assessment environments and standards pertaining to airport common use deployment.
- Experience of software configuration control in a large and complex test and commissioning environment.
- Experience in performing assessments of systems and software supplier capabilities with respect to processes, products, quality and programme adherence.
- Project management experience.
- Knowledge of possible alternative technologies that may be considered for common use implementations.
Ability to identify business opportunities.
- Experience in providing consultancy support and representing company interests at client sites (outside the UK).
